Gold Rush
Ladies….meet your new fall cocktail. It is called the Gold Rush and was created by bartender T.J. Siegal for New York’s cocktail bar Milk & Honey in the mid 2000s. Its blend of bourbon, lemon juice and honey will be the RUSH of warmth you need to keep you cozy on a chilly, fall day. A good bourbon like Woodford Reserve double-oaked makes this cocktail GOLDEN.
Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon
¾ ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ ounces honey syrup (see note)
Note: To make honey syrup, combine 1 cup water with 1 cup of honey in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the honey has dissolved. Cool before using. The syrup will keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
