These self-professed fashion-aholics realized there was a void in the women’s marketplace in Pittsburgh—there weren’t fashionable options at accessible price points that felt luxe but modern. “During a lunch last summer, we lamented that while we love e-commerce, we missed the joy of walking into a boutique, seeing a new item, trying it on, and then walking right out with a garment we love.” Shortly after that moment, they decided to start Madeleine George. Named for their daughters, they have set out to give their beloved city a fashion hot spot that promises to constantly deliver unique finds, high-demand staples and uncompromising style at a variety of price points that fit into any budget. ABOUT NICOLE RABNER

Nicole, a Pittsburgh native, has always had an intrinsic knowledge of style. At 22, she landed her first job with famed makeup artist and mega-brand Trish McEvoy in NYC. Nicole quickly made a name for herself within the organization, and developed her signature edgy-chic style in her years in the fashion capitol of the world. Upon moving back to Pittsburgh to start her family, her fervor for fashion never let up. It was this unyielding quest for the latest styles and the unexpected, fresh discovery that has kept Nicole on the cutting edge of fashion and beauty. She is ecstatic to embark on this new element of her career, and to bring her coveted sense of style to her beloved city of Pittsburgh. ABOUT STACY COHEN

Stacy’s love of fashion began with her first subscription to Vogue magazine at age 12. Since that time, she has been enthralled by fashion both as an art form and as a powerful means of self-expression. She believes that there is a transformative aspect of clothing and that what we choose to wear strongly impacts how others perceive us, as well as how we feel about ourselves. While for most of her professional career she has worked as an attorney, opening a women’s clothing boutique has always been a dream. Over the years, she has followed trends and pop culture, constantly eager to learn of new designers and ideas. Stacy’s vision for Madeleine George is to have a store where women will be introduced to new brands and styles to create a shopping experience that is unique and fun.
