Just Mercy
The 2019 dramatic film, Just Mercy, tells the true story of Harvard Law School graduate Bryan Stevenson, who as a young lawyer moves to Alabama and starts the Equal Justice Initiative in order to represent people who cannot afford legal representation. Many of his clients are inmates on death row who have been convicted as a result of faulty evidence and unfair trials. The film sheds light on the sad injustices faced by many of these men, and reveals some of the corruption inherent in the legal system . While the film centers around one case in particular, it shows how the tireless work of Bryan Stevenson to achieve justice, has saved the lives of many innocent men.
